I was privileged to be asked to photograph the 2nd Annual Middle Eastern Ball to benefit Easter Seals at the beautiful Par-A-Dice Hotel in East Peoria, IL. The event was co-chaired by Mina Shams and David Bozeman. The guests were entertained with music by the Jad Soudah Band from Detroit, MI and middle eastern dancer Khazna Khalil from Chicago, IL. Special invited guests included Senator Darin LaHood, Peoria Mayor and Mrs. Jim Ardis, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice M. Taylor Jr., Mr. Jim Maloof and Ambassador and Mrs. Yousif B. Ghafari. It was a fantastic evening of fine food, music and entertainment for the crowd in excess of 500. A huge special thanks to my best friend and exceptional photographer Rod McClanahan of Creative Photography for all his help.


The City of Peoria held a commemorate 10th Anniversary of September 11 by holding a 9/11 Remembrance Event at O’Brien Field. The special service was free and open to the public, was a tribute not only to those individuals who lost their lives on that fateful day, but to the men and women who continue to risk their lives to keep our nation safe. With the assistance of MrsKathy Downing, the guest speaker for the event was Vice Admiral Robert S. Harward, Deputy Commander, U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM).


The mission of the Innovations Conference on Asphalt and Transportation (ICAT) is to develop a network of business executives, policymakers, and scholars from around the USA. The objective is to promote business alliances, align and leverage new partnerships, help secure new funding sources, and turn risk into opportunity. Bradley University hosted the 24th annual conference. This year we have a very special program centered on Global Infrastructure.

Each year close to three million cases of child abuse are reported, according to Prevent Child Abuse Illinois. In honor of April being Child Abuse Prevention Month, Crittenton Centers held their 3rd Annual Pinwheels for Prevention pinwheel garden Friday morning. The Pinwheels are a symbol of change to individuals’ attitudes about abuse prevention.

Cindy Fischer, Executive Director at Crittenton Centers says, “Our hopes are and we are working in collaboration with Center For Prevention and Abuse and the Pediatric resource center of really educating people in terms of what to look for in regards to possible abuse or neglect for a child. The Center is hosting their Parent Night Tuesday April 12 and Parenting Breakfast Break Wednesday April 20th.
