Metamora High School (6-2, 5-1), the defending Mid-Illini Conference champion ranked #7 in the IHSA Class 5A, beat the #2 ranked Washington Panthers (7-1, 5-1) 27-24 at Babcook Field in front of an estimated 6,000 fans. Dekota Doerr scored the winning touchdown in the games final minutes. The Redbirds defense picked off Panthers senior quarterback Isaac Fisher twice after that to preserve the win.
