The Chatham Glenwood Titans (19-4-2) ended the Morton Potters (19-5-1) postseason run with a 3-0 victory in the IHSA Class 2A Springfield Supersectional. A tightly-contested affair in the midfield, the game was ultimately decided in front of the Morton goal, where the Titans converted three crosses into three unanswered goals and, as a result, the program’s fifth trip to the state finals. The Titan goals were scored by Brendel Marshall, Kayla Torry and Abby Juhlin. Chatham’s senior goal keeper Cara Moody was stellar in between the pipes shutting down Morton. Next up for the Titans is a state semifinal match at 1 p.m. Friday against Normal University High (17-5-1) at North Central College in Naperville.

Peoria Richwoods was soundly defeated in Saturday’s IHSA Class 5A football semifinal by Chatham Glenwood who gained 410 total yards on offense. The host Titans dominated from the opening series in a 42-13 thrashing that ended favored Richwoods’ season at 12-1. Kendrick Foster the Knights sophomore running back carried 34 times for 237 yards and two touchdowns. Kendrick who gained 30 yards on the Knights’ final series finished the season with 2,004 yards.
