The Burlington Bees scored seven runs in the fourth, which helped them knock off the West Michigan Whitecaps 9-1 on Wednesday night at Community Field. The Bees (36-54, 10-15) have been relying on their offense during the last couple of weeks and for good reason, as the Bees scored six runs or more for the fifth consecutive contest. Burlington, which has won five of its last six games, used a huge seven-run fourth to come back and beat West Michigan (45-50, 12-13). After West Michigan scored one run in the top of the fourth, the Bees answered back in a big way in the bottom of the inning against Montreal Robertson. Robertson (2-4) started off the frame by giving up a single to Andrew Ray and walking Wade Hinkle. Anthony Bemboom‘s double scored Ray to tie the game. After Exicardo Cayones walked and Michael Bolaski struck out, Chevy Clarke plated Bemboom with a single to give Burlington the lead. Angel Rosa, making his Bees debut, doubled home two runs to give the Bees a 4-1 advantage. Chad Smith came in for Robertson and Sherman Johnson greeted him with a three-run home run. Brandon Love (2-4) tossed 2.2 innings of relief, leaving the game in the middle of an at-bat due to a lower body injury. Joey Krehbiel picked up for him and fired 2.1 perfect innings with three strikeouts.
