Cowden-Herrick Beecher City (29-3) advances to the IHSA Class 1A championship game with a 63-54 victory over Illini Bluffs (24-6) at Redbird Arena. The Lady Tigers were led by junior Taylor McClintock with 38 points. Faith Wendte scored 20 points pacing the Lady Hornets and Micah Jones grabbed 16 rebounds. Eureka High School held Stillman Valley to 38 points and 39 percent field goal shooting Monday night. The Hornets also forced 22 turnovers, instead it seemed to do everything but fall through the net for the ladies in a 38-26 loss to the Cardinals in the IHSA Monmouth Class 2A Super-Sectional. The Hornets were 10 of 53 from the field for 18.9 percent, ending their season with a 24-7 record. Eureka senior guard Kalla Gold, who scored a game-high 15 points on 5-of-21 accuracy from the field. Five-foot-10 senior Jessica Gerig led Stillman Valley with 11 points and nine rebounds. Katie Fowler, also 5-10, added nine points and seven boards for the Cardinals, who outrebounded Eureka, 39-30.
