Center Taylor Larsen notched Peoria’s fourth hat trick of the season, while Steve Morra and Matt Viola each added a tally, as the Peoria Rivermen cruised to a 5-2 victory over the Huntsville Havoc Friday at Carver Arena before 3,502 fans. Three of Peoria’s five goals were scored on special teams, including two shorthanded goals and a 1-for-5 performance on the power play. The victory extends Peoria’s win streak to a season-best three games, and its point streak to five. The Rivermen are now 6-6-3 on the year (15 points) in the SPHL and in sole possession of seventh place in the standings. In addition, goaltender Eric Levine (4-4-3) earned his third straight win after stopping 30 of 32 shots on the night. The Rivermen outshot the Havoc 39-32 on the night and went 6-for-7 on the penalty kill. Jesse Kallechy (6-3-0) suffered the loss after he made 35 saves.
