Illinois Central College (9-8) scored in the bottom of the seventh inning on a throwing error at the plate allowing Alyssa Burd to score beating Parkland College 3-2 at the CougarPlex in the annual “Pink Game”. The Cougars were led in hitting by freshman outfielder Gabby Akright with two hits including a lead-off home run. Freshman pitcher Cordan Jones tossed a two-hitter while striking out five Cobra hitters without any walks. Sophomore third baseman Raeshel Braden hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning for Parkland’s only offense in the game.

ICC Lady Cougars Beat Parkland in Annual Pink Game

The Parkland College women’s soccer team traveled to EastSide Centre on Wednesday, and stayed undefeated with a 4-1 victory over Illinois Central College. Sophomore goal keeper Jordan Slade was masterful in the nets for the Cobra’s. This was the final home game for twelve sophomores on the Cougars roster.

Parkland College Tops ICC Cougars in Women’s Soccer

The eight-ranked Illinois Central College Cougars beat the No. 6 Parkland College Cobras in five sets – 24-26, 25-18, 25-14, 17-25, 15-13. Lindsay Herman led ICC in kills for the match.
