I spent the afternoon visiting and photographing some of the instructors and children at former Bradley University and NBA star Mitchell J.J. Anderson‘s all-star basketball camp. Mitchell has given back to the community by holding a free week long basketball camp for underprivileged boys and girls ages 8 thru 14 since 1997. The camp has numerous coaches and volunteers that make this a huge success. Mitchell brings in several speakers for the kids during the week, and OSF Medical Center nurses gave all of the campers health physicals and eye screenings free of charge. They also learn about the importance of education, hygiene, and good nutrition

On Sunday I packed up my camera gear and headed south to Lewistown, Il to meet up with master photographer Ted Connolly to take in the Carson & Barnes circus. It was a fantastic two hour performance featuring acrobats, animals and  athleticism by all of the performers. Here are few of my photo’s from the day.

I was honored to be asked to spend a day photographing some awesome young children at Easter Seals as they received therapy from loving professionals who are devoted to making progress in the lives of kids with disabilities. It is a humbling experience to be in the room as the therapists work with each child one on one, with passion and dignity shown to them it is unlike anything I have witnessed in my adult life. Hope you enjoy the photo’s and donate to this great organization.

Some images from the OSF Foundation 2nd annual 5K “Fight to the Finish” endurance race for the adults and the children’s fun run at Jubilee State Park in Brimfield, IL. The weather was perfect for with 300+ participants who help to raise money to benefit the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. Everyone had a great time especially the young kids who attacked the “Rumble in the Jungle” obstacle course with it’s own jumps, hills and water hazard.
