I was working at the computer earlier tonight and decided that I was not in the mood to stay at home and watch baseball on TV, so I quickly grabbed one my Canon 1D Mark IV digital camera bodies along with my awesome 400mm f/2.8 IS lens and headed downtown to the Peoria Civic Center. Bought myself a general admission ticket in the nosebleed section and proceeded to shoot the Peoria Rivermen against there rivals from the north the Rockford IceHogs. It had been over 6 months since I shot my last hockey game and it took me most of the first period to catch up with the speed of the game. The Rivermen were dominant as they scored on four power-play goals and skated to an easy 6-2 AHL victory. Peoria Rivermen winger Chris Porter scored 2 goals and added an assist. Dave Scatchard had three assists, Nicholas Drazenovic notched a goal and an assist and Graham Mink and Mark Cundari each had two assists.
