Bradley senior guardĀ Walt Lemon, Jr. pumped in 33 points, leading the Braves to a 70-60 exhibition victory versus West Virginia Wesleyan in the final preseason tuneup Saturday afternoon at Carver Arena. The exhibition game represented the return to Peoria for former Bradley Director of OperationsĀ Patrick Beilein and his team played the game all the way to the end. Bradley led by 20, 64-44, with 8:37 remaining, but the Bobcats closed the gap to within eight points in the final minutes, forcing Lemon back into the game to put the game away. While Lemon piled up his points on consistent drives to the basket, West Virginia Wesleyan was led by Brett Ervin, who scored 28 points, mostly on 8-for-12 shooting from behind the 3-point arc. Bradley outscored its visitors 48-14 in the paint, while the Bobcats made 12-of-34 from 3-point range, compared to Bradley’s 1-for-11. Bradley scored the game’s first four points and never trailed, pushing its lead to double-digits with 10:21 left in the first half.
