Here are some of the finished pieces that will be up for auction on February 24th, 2012 at the 7th annual Black & Blue Ball at the Peoria Civic Center. Last years live auction raised over $40,000.00 for the kids at Easter Seals. Be sure to mark this evening on your calendar and bid on these unique pieces of pottery. The children did an awesome job as always and the finished pieces are breathtaking. A huge thanks goes out to owner Kati Faletti and her manager Heather Hogan at Fired -Up Studios on Prospect in Peoria Heights for being such gracious hosts and making this project possible.

I was going thru my archives looking for images for a client project and found some of my favorite shot’s of kids. The first shot of the young lady was from the Illinois Arts Alliance Conference from last years conference in Peoria at the Hotel Pere Marquette. She was painting the outside windows of the hotel with several of her classmates as a school project. I noticed the chalk writing on the sidewalk and asked her if she would pose for a quick snapshot. This is one of my favorites.

The boy with the Bradley Braves sign was from a tournament game in March 2008 at the Civic Center against the University of Cincinnati. I noticed him in the third row during a time-out near the end of the game. I quickly got two shots off before he turned and sat down. This image was used in the Bradley Basketball Media guide in 2009.

The blonde haired young boy was taken in 2006 at a Bradley University Baseball game at O’Brien Field. He was completely mesmerized by the action on the field and had no idea I was taking his picture.

The young boy with the soccer ball was taken in November 2008 after Notre Dame High School won the IHSA Boy’s State Championship in Naperville, IL at North Central College. He had a smile on his face and a hop in his step after the Irish captured the Class 2A State Title.

The future Cub’s fan was taken last spring at the Eastside Center during a semifinal game at the IHSA Class 1A  girl’s softball tournament. I noticed him checking out the crowd in between innings  as I was moving from the dugout photo space to behind the plate.
